Unsurprisingly, one of the most common questions we get asked is - How Much Does Soundproofing Cost?
Fear not, you don't need to be Royalty or a millionaire to soundproof your home from noisy neighbours, build a recording studio, create a home cinema room, or soundproof a garden room. The short answer to this question is, it varies, depending on four factors.
The 4 key questions whensoundproofing your home are:
1. What type of structure are you trying to soundproof? Is it a wall, floor, ceiling or studio?
2. How loud is the noise you are trying to block? Noisy neighbours (TV noise, music, talking, shouting, footsteps, dogs barking) the list can be pretty endless, or perhaps it's blocking noise from something like a band rehearsal room?
3. How much space can you afford to loose?
4. The size of the area that needs soundproofing?
You will also need to consider the installation costs. Most standard systems can be fitted by a competent DIY / local tradesman, however some more complicated systems may need professional installers (i.e. recording studios).
Installation costs:
· Local tradesman may charge around £300 per day for a two-man team
· A professional soundproofing installer may charge around £500 per day for a two-man team
